I find myself at the intersection between health coaching and fiction. I want my fiction to provide a framework for choosing healthier lives for women who live with illnesses. Specifically chronic illnesses. Because I live with several and I know that fiction has the power to heal. Does that make any sense? Because it’s what I’m trying. Not sure if I’m doing it successfully.
Definitely. I think if you're hoping to build an audience, though, you'll need to get super clear about the takeaway (likely health-related insights) and weave fiction storytelling into how you share about them. Audiences need their "why" spelled out very directly and if you're trying to bend genres too far away from center (aka where audiences are willing to give a new thing a try), it can be a bit of an uphill climb to grow. ☀️
