#3 resonated: “Build in Breath. Your publication needs room to breathe. So do you.”

I learned to do this from you—to slow down and not overwhelm myself or my readers. Now when I have an idea that spans across several posts, I don’t feel obligated to push myself into publishing them weekly. I take my time with them, and use signals in the post itself to remind readers where we’ve been and how it fits with the current thought. It’s resulted in stronger writing, frankly, since it allows me to consider reader responses and reactions as I draft the next essay.

"And instead of publishing from a place of conviction or possibility, they start publishing to preserve what’s already been built." Nicely put!

Ohhhh! I love #4: “Stay in relationship with your readers without performing for them.”

And I exhale.

This is solid, lovely, heart-centered advice on how to keep creating as ourself rather than the thought of what we should be.

I did a tarot reading in notes this morning that pretty much echoes this post.

This was a very affirming post, Amanda. I launched my own substack a while ago and I realized that I am can’t commit to posting regularly. I’m in the process of rebranding and coming back at this with a new mindset.

Amanda, I really appreciate the idea of separating creation from production. That's a helpful distinction, that they're two different kinds of work. A few weeks ago, for some reason, I was able to schedule a few posts ahead, and it felt like such delicious freedom to have that much free space in the schedule. Hoping to get there again sometime! Thanks for this wisdom.
