This was so helpful! I used it to make a pre-publishing checklist of questions to ask of my essay to make sure I'm doing what I intend to be doing. Thanks Amanda!
Thank you Amanda. I love the insight about putting what you can promise in your welcome letter! I am also thinking about Rhythm and resonance this summer- the last week I have been mapping out ideas for a series on rhythm, resonance, and repetition (as they relate to music and life) and how they play with each other. I’ll be excited to see where you take the same keywords in the publishing process.
Really food for thought, Amanda. The responses are very informative. I think a lot of it we intrinsically already know, but good for a brush-up, to sharpen our 'pencils.'
Thanks, Amanda, for sharing this. I have participated in the survey as a reader, and now I am interested in the results as a writer. It's nice to see that maintaining trust is not just about churning out content and staying in touch, but about honesty, writing with depth, and, as I interpret it, authenticity.
HI Amanda. I agree with your perspective. I see clearly that many creator's are pushing hard to just get paid. It has changed my approach to my posts. I want to help people without always asking them to pay me for the information. If this pattern doesn't change, it's going to feel like a flea market rather than a community. Thank you for this article. David
Thanks for pointing to the intersection of trust and asking for upgrades. I certainly don't begrudge anyone for wanting to make a living from their writing — but when it usurps building trust first, it is somewhat of a losing battle, isn't it?
